Everyone has a reason to celebrate in June. Do you know why? It is National Cancer Survivor's Month! This June will mark the 29th annual National Cancer Survivors Month. This is an opportunity to “honor cancer survivors, bring attention to the challenges of cancer survivorship, and to show the world that life after a cancer diagnosis can be active, productive, rewarding, and inspiring” (Source: NCSD).
Thanks to the advancement of medical technology, research studies and innovative medicines, we have more cancer survivors today than ever before. Almost everyone knows at least one person who has fought or is fighting cancer. Maybe that person is even you.
When you are facing cancer, there is nothing more encouraging than hearing someone else’s story to lift your spirits. We would like to invite you to share your story in the form of a short testimonial. Writing a few paragraphs about your personal experience with cancer could make all the difference in someone else’s life. Maybe one or two of your family members has a story to share, and you could assist them in writing their stories.
You can also share your survivor story on Facebook or Twitter using the hashtag #CancerSurvivorsSCCN. Your stories will be shared on Stop Colon Cancer Now's Facebook and/or Twitter page, @StopColonCancer.
However you choose to do to observe National Cancer Survivor’s Month, we thank you! Please consider writing and sharing your story on our Testimonials page. The men and women who have shared their testimonials have found it very meaningful and rewarding. Giving the gift of your experience helps others learn and be encouraged. When it comes to fighting cancer, we are all in this battle together and this is just one way that we can provide a nationwide community of support and caring.
